MIIA REWARDS – Program Description

In 2002 The MIIA Rewards Program was developed to promote a proactive municipal risk management culture. Education/training and program/policy development and implementation form the foundation of this program. 

The Program was designed with three objectives in mind as a tool for member retention, as a best practice catalyst, and as a means of loss mitigation.

Each year the Rewards criteria and guidelines are developed based on the pool loss experience and member feedback.

Rewards programs are developed to help reduce municipal and pool loss experience, educate members on issues of topical interest and establish prevention and maintenance best practices while also rewarding members for implementing innovative programs. This translates into providing members with tools that increase the depth of their knowledge in effectively handling situations that impact their loss experience.

Members are given premium credits toward the next policy year by participating in these programs and trainings

This program continues to evolve thanks to member participation and feedback. The MIIA staff welcomes all inquiries and looks forward to answering any questions you may have. Call us.

 

Dear MIIA Member,

Welcome to the FY11 MIIA Rewards Program . We enter this year after completing the
8th year of the program which included 51 technical trainings, 41 regional and cluster
management trainings, 74 on-site management trainings and 14 emergency operator courses.
Trainings were held state wide at 52 different locations and over four thousand municipal
employees participated in these trainings.


On September 28th from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. we will have a webinar that will review all
of MIIA's FY11 risk management programs, including MIIA Rewards.
This year, based
on your feedback, we have restructured and simplified the Rewards Program. Attached
are the Rewards Guidelines ,Rewards Program criteria and training schedule. Please take
a few minutes to review them.

The Rewards Program highlights for FY11 include a few big improvements! They are:
- new program guidelines
- new direct email format for training notices
- website seminar registration redesign (training can be viewed by fiscal year, month or category)
- creation of bi annual Rewards member status reports
- a new policy of the month program
- the addition of bimonthly risk management webinars.
