Program addresses the challenges of prolonged postures (sitting/standing/bending) as well as material handling activities such as lifting and shoveling.
Who should attend: Public works personnel, school custodian, food service and administrative staff.
1-1/2 hour training: This program teaches participants how ergonomic principles can be used to recognize, evaluate and control work place as well as non work related conditions that can lead to musculoskeletal injuries. The program addresses the challenges of prolonged postures (sitting/standing/bending) as well as material handling activities such as lifting and shoveling. Demonstrations are provided and participants are invited to participate in hands on activities involving stretching, postural instruction, body mechanics and the proper use of poles. This program may be customized to specific departments.
