This full-day program allows police officers to hone their driving skills using their own cruisers, guided by MIIA's certified instructors. It includes 2-3 hours of classroom instruction on emergency response, vehicle maintenance, and on-scene risk management. Hands-on courses are designed to improve skills in backing, longitude, lateral weight transfers, ABS braking, and understanding stability and traction control. The afternoon skill test helps officers understand that slower driving has minimal time differences compared to aggressive driving. This program will be conducted regardless of the weather. Please note this training is also open to Fire Departments (SUV/CAR ONLY). Anyone who drives an SUV or car to an emergency call should attend this EVOC Training.
